Fountain of youth!

... in continuation of the last article about losing weight and diabetes: ... to the medical doctor's and scientists (boring stuff for us regular Joe's) the process I describe for the "Pump Diet" (your body needs to rest that pump just like a water pump in a country home or it will burn up) there is no physical pump (that I'm aware of)! So the mystery to this process of perhaps making enzymes, maybe hormones, maybe chemicals (or maybe something we don't know yet) is actually the key to living longer, period. It would be worth investigating not only for weight loss, but for a "Fountain of Youth" and or preventative cures for other maladies such as cancer.

It's out there for the scientists to ponder. It is not a cure for those who already have diabetes, but remember my story about hitting your finger with the hammer; the cure has to come before the damage is done (see my blog article just prior to this entry, "Diabetes cure?").

Diabetes Cure?

Well, maybe... The answer is the "PUMP". I'll give the short version first, and then elaborate for those who are interested in learning more.

When we eat our bodies have enzymes and chemicals that are produced ("PUMPED") by a biological process pump. Just like water pumps in homes out in the country, the pump cannot continuosly run without burning out. The pump needs a break. A rest. A person should eat less often (frequency of eating, not how much or what you are eating, is my claim to the cause of diabetes).

Elaboration: Okay. I noticed that many people claim they eat a little here and there and not the big meal (so they don't stretch their stomach I guess). It does not work in the long run. Many scientists claim that diabetes is an epidemic, and never before have we seen such a rise in weight gain amongst children. This seems to lead to diabetes. Is it the TV? Maybe it is the "snack" while watching the TV (turn on the pump!). Sometimes people go for hours without eating, but enjoy having a soda. Well, turn on the pump again! You see, our bodies need to take a break in the digestive process that we start everytime we ingest something other than water. By the time we are 40 years old, the pump has burnt out. There is no repairing the pump. It is like hitting your finger with the hammer, smashing it real good, then asking, "What is the cure for hitting my finger with the hammer?" We can patch it up, but the scars remain. The only cure is to not use a hammer, or plan our aim better. We can plan. And that is the only "Cure" we will have in the future for diabetes.

In the old days, we did not have TV, we had to work the fields, we were always active. But it was not the physical exersion that prevented diabetes, it was that we were occupying our time with other activities than eating. In third world countries diabetes is less prevalent. Food is more scarce, so eating is mainly done at meals. Time for the pump to rest. Parents often tell thier children to "not snack in between meals", "wait for dinner". In today's world, our constant supervision of our children is becoming lost, and the easiest way to quiet a child is to give them something. Often it is food. Turn on the pump. A soda? Turn on the pump. It becomes a habitual cycle into adulthood. The obesity that started when young then snowballs into an avalanche that is hard to stop when getting older. When the "PUMP" burns out, it cannot be cured.

I devised this diet plan that will help (for those who still have hope). It is a free diet plan. It works. It's simple. It is not reall diffcult, but does require a bit of will power and some tools. You will want consult a doctor. Call this the "Pump" diet.

You will need a scale. Only weigh yourself 1 time per day or less often. No clothes on during the weigh. Use the bathroom first etc... You might need some Hoodia, Splenda, and diet RC cola. Also, get some bottled water. Stay away from sugar, salt, and wheat ("If it's white, it's not right"). Eat plenty of protein and lower your carbs (not too extreme like the atkins plan). You are set to begin with the plan. Please note that all of the items are not FORBIDDEN, just cut way back on them. The first days of this diet plan will be the hardest, but you must believe it will work, and the scale will not lie to you. Don't drink a bunch of water right before it is time to weigh. You are in competition mode here! Get the lowest weight possible!

The diet focusues on your mental ability to wait 4 hours or more before eating again. If you finish eating at 4pm, then you cannot eat again until 8pm. It is important to eat only as much as about the the size of your hand, and eating high protein, lower carbs. At first, this will be hard to do. Your body will still be hungry when you are done eating. Drink some water, have that diet RC cola, and in about twenty minutes look at the clock and see when your next feeding time is.

If during that time, you struggle, maybe take a “Hoodia” pill (not the lollipop version…I got mine at www.SwansonVitamins.com … but you can get them at Wal-Mart too I hear). Maybe go out and run (if you can). Maybe walk or garden or wash the car. Sure, you can watch TV, but if you want to break a habit, you might need to break some other habits too. Just do not eat. Drink only water. Are you hungry for that Cherry pie? When your 4 hours is up, have a slice of cherry pie the size of your hand. But know that it will be 4 more hours until you can eat again. I advise to make “feeding” time count!

I drink coffee with Splenda, and some half and half. But only at the 4 hour interval! By the way, in a few days you will still be making more food than you should be eating. And it will happen, you will just eat too much. Don’t feel too bad, but DO make yourself wait an extra hour before eating again! After that forget about it, and don’t do it again. The scale will be coming, and the competition will be fierce!

That is my contribution to the world. I hope it helps you, and if you have other ideas or stories about this “Pump Diet” then just post them to this blog! Good Luck! -The Compusician (aka: Gary Ruff)
