(Note: This new "D" Series of poems are written in Haiku. The middle line tells a story, connected to the next Haiku poem's 2nd line. I'm not trying to be clever, but trying to expand my songwriting capabilities. The title is the "hook" for the song. And the three lines are there for me to expand on, in a song. The art is also part of my series. Eventually, I will have the songs made into DEMO for listening. I hope this works out for me, because I am tired of starting over, "back to the drawing board").

Now:

I see the truck
In the ditch
The inexperience
The wreckage


Flashback!

The snow is pounding
With such fury
The car in back
Comes 'round in hurry!

He sees the face
A scared young boy!
While his Mom and Dad play
With a 5,000 pound toy

THEY JAM ON THE BRAKES!

And to save a life,
The trucker avoids,
Their unwanted strife...

A HEROIC ACT!

As the trucker swerves
To miss the driver
Who had the nerve


Now:

It's a bright sunny day
The birds fly free
Not a snowflake around
None you can see

A truck in the ditch
On it's side it will be
"I can drive better than that,
most definitely!"


Narrator:

Life is just like the highway
We see other lives in wreckage.
Evidence of cause is gone.
The event of heroism has escaped.
All that is is seen,
Is the big "mistake"

And we think we can do better?

Dentek Sonic Water Jet

In January of 2010 I purchased a Dentek Sonic Water Jet, Model: HC-5305, from Wal-Mart for about 30 US Dollars.

About 4 weeks later, it stopped working. When I turned the "ON" butto to "ON", it would not start at all.

I e-mailed the company to see if there was a reset switch. They e-mailed me back saying I needed to call them. Well, for 30 bucks, I figured I would find a better way to waste my time and money, and I would just tell you what I thought about this product.

For the 4 weeks that it worked, it worked well. Prior to my purchase, I had a Water Pik (old, and loud, and crusty) that lasted 15 years! Well, I went back to Wal-Mart and bought a new Water Pik, the Deluxe model. I should have spent the extra money it cost (about 60 bucks at Wal-Mart) in the first place. Quality does have a price, as I found out the hard way.... again.

There's a vein of gold
That runs through thought, imagination, and mind
The search can be long, the trail can grow cold
And forgotten words left behind

A random thought, a trivial plot
A couple of great lines, now forgot
The search for the rhyme,
Or just keeping in time

And when the words are set
And the paper with fill
Have we cast our true words, our own true will?
Are they the best words yet?

But that one sliver of gold, is the quest that we share
It speaks our thoughts, exact mental verbatim, so rare

EinStud started the day early having set his alarm clock


(MADE IN JAPAN ) for 6 am .



While his coffeepot

was perking, he shaved with his

electric razor

He put on a

dress shirt

(MADE IN SRI LANKA),


designer jeans

(MADE IN SINGAPORE)

and

tennis shoes

(MADE IN KOREA)

After cooking his breakfast in his new

electric skillet

(MADE IN INDIA)

he sat down with his
calculator

(MADE IN MEXICO)

to see how much he could spend today. After setting his

watch

(MADE IN TAIWAN )

to the radio

(MADE IN INDIA )

he got in his car

(MADE IN GERMANY )

filled it with GAS

(from Saudi Arabia )

and continued his search

for a good paying AMERICAN JOB.

At the end of yet another discouraging

and fruitless day

checking his

Computer

(made in MALAYSIA ),

EinStud decided to relax for a while.

He put on his sandals

wine

and turned on his

TV

and then wondered why he can't

find a good paying job
