Is Britney 27 years old?
I think I know why so many artist's (musicians) kill themselves at the young age of 27 (Link: http://www.cultcase.com/2008/03/live-fast-die-young-20-great-artists.html).
Think of when an interviewer asks the question, “Which is your favorite song that you made?”. The answer always seems to be, “...they are all my babies, I love them all.”, or “...the next song is my favorite”.
And therein lies the answer as to why so many great artists die young.
These young people have a talent at a very young age. The business side of this talent exploits them out of every penny they can make for the “suits” (businessmen). Concerts, interviews, commercials, community events, socials, and charities all are on the “to do” list as well as what you have on your to do list (minus taking out the trash I suppose). It's no wonder why the greats end up entangled in drugs, they need them just to stay awake! And the fact always remains that we all still only get 24 hours in a day.
And here is an idea to add to this dilemma of dividing time. When I make a song, or write, or blog for that matter, I feel a sense of achievement, but I also feel drained. It is time recuperate. After writing a blog, the recuperation period may only be a few minutes and a cup of coffee. After writing Star Wars, I imagine the recuperation period must be much longer than a cup of coffee and a few minutes.
A med student, a Doctor, or Lawyer is no different as they are constantly drawing form their mind. A Policeman, or Fire Fighter must draw from their mind and reactionary response. Truck Drivers, and Nurses usually draw from their experience with long hours at a time on the job. So why should anyone feel that an artist should any different? And the answer is that an artist is drawing from his soul. Sleep restores the mind, but the soul needs more than just sleep to be restored.
I think that the lack of sleep coupled with the lack of restoring the soul (religion, God) is why these great artists like Jim Morrison, and Jimi Hendrix go out at such a young age. Just going to Church adds another “to do” to the list. These artist were sucked of their time, their mind, and their soul.
A vacation is not enough to replenish this loss. A plan that includes sleep, soul restoration, and time off WEEKLY, is the answer. That answer is what could save Britney Spears.
Peace Out, The Compusician (fully restored)
