VST Plug In
A great new idea for a music program “plug in” for sequencers.
A great new idea for a music program “plug in” for sequencers.
The VST Program might start off by asking me the Beats per Minute. Then ask for the loops. The “range” should be equal on each track.
For example, I put in 2 loops that are 4 bars long, and 1 loop that is 1 bar long, and 1 loop that is 8 bars long. If I select my range to be 1 bar long, it will play each track simultaneously, at 1 bar length for each track. In essence, it is a sequencer that allows me to play the sequencer marker at different points on multiple tracks. It also allows me to FX each track, creating some new and wild sounds for the future of music.
I included a picture to help explain this idea a bit better. Just think of your regular sequencer, but the only difference is that each track I can start at a different location. It allows me to select a “range” in each track. And, it produces a perfect 1 bar, 2 bar (whatever I choose) loop. Which allows for a greater freedom in riff making.
I am giving this idea free of charge to the world so it can be developed by another more experienced programmer. If you like the idea and want to pay me, great. If not well just know that I have thousands of ideas for any quality music company which would like to pay for my imagination as a creative and imaginative employee.
Peace Out, The Compusician
I forgot to add "why" this VST plugin would be an advantage. The range (yellow range in photo) is like a slider. On each track the artist can slide the range for immediate auditing, and track effect editing. It is on demand.
ReplyDeleteThis is especially unique since I could possibly load up a 2 bar loop of the exact same loop 4 times. When I have the sliders in different positions, it will yield different sound qualities. And yes, I could do this with a one word vocal.
No outcome is ever predicted exactly until the artist hears it, and he can instantly "juice" it up, instantly produce a perfect 2 bar loop to use or sell, and it is "on demand" so no editing or cumbersome steps are needed (cutting and pasting) to audit what will be the eventual finished loop.
I vision a day when this idea could be a stand alone program, an artist will load his whole loop library into this product, and he will be able to audit each sample "on demand" AND combine "on demand" with other possible loops and effects.
The main goal is to allow super convenience to combine different parts of loops and exporting one loop as an immediate usable or saleable loop.
Again, the possibilities for vocal combinations and ideas are amazing. But for now, us artists must gather our loops, cut them, try them out, retry them out, re cut, re paste, re, re, re...
The "Compusician's Ranger" idea will help studio artists save time time and grasp a greater control over new artistic ideas for the future of music.
Eventually, it will be adapted to "Live" music, and become a stand alone instrument. The Computer will evolve into what the Guitar is today.
(Because if I can slide the range on each track, then a hardware device that has, for example, 10 tracks essentially becomes a 10 string guitar with the FULL capabilities of a Synthesizer).
And to imagine is the first step to creation. Imagination always comes before the lyrics or the song. Imagination came before the chicken or the egg.
I imagine this instrument, and since I did it first, I will call it the Comptar. A computer plus a Guitar. (or CompuTar) (or CompMusician since it does far more than any guitar will ever do).
Now, go run with my idea and share it with the world. And stay tuned for more of my ideas involving the future of music.
Peace Out, Gary Ruff
How about "CompSynthar" or "CompSynTar" or just "SynTar", "SynthTar", "GuiSynth" (sounds like ga zun heit, when you sneeze)...
