Compusician gives award for Riddle
Compusician gives award for famous Riddle
"If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"
Here is the Link: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylc=X3oDMTB2Y2t1c212BF9TAzIxMTUzMDA5ODgEc2VjA2ZwBHNsawN0b2RheXE-?qid=20090525234910AAOGh95
And this Riddle is the current winner of the Compy Award. The answer is simple: Yes. Not only does it make a sound, a sound never dies, it just continues to diminish into infinity. So be careful what you say! Someday the world will know. I suspect others say "No". Just remember that many things are made in life that are never perceived (like my article writing?). :)

Compusician's Laundry Sock
I'm a single guy that has to do his own laundry, so I have to discover things on my own (by choice). The smell of my laundry is not all that great when I am done drying it, so I invented something has already been invented before I am sure (might make a good “soap” opera or sitcom).
I have tried dyer sheets, but they lose their smell after opening the box. Good laundry detergent costs too much for what little benefit of smell I get at the end.
Enter the Compusician's Laundry Sock. Okay, here is the basic idea. I take a pair of black socks. I put one inside the other, and tie it off into a knot. Then I put the perfume agent onto the sock. I throw it into the dryer. Because I rarely wear black socks, it is easy to spot for the next load.
Today I had an old bottle of Polo Cologne laying around, so I put some drops onto the Sock. I also have old bottles of essential oils, some rubbing alcohol, and a dropper bottle that I have from other “failed” inventions.
I want to note an unintended effect (this is why I think my idea of a sit com where a guy invents some things that already have been invented would do well, the “Lucy” effect. Yes, the unintended consequences). But this unintended effect turned out great this time.
My whole house now smells great (my dryer is vented inside the home).
While at Willie Nelson's Truck Stop this week outside of Dallas, Texas, I got a good whiff of his soap. I wonder if all musicians are into smells and perfume? I could see myself putting that bar of soap into some water, and then spritzing my laundry sock with the perfumed water. I just wonder about residue. In my original idea, the base is alcohol which evaporates leaving only the essential oil or cologne in the laundry sock.
Well, I better get busy with my music. I think ol' Willie might be ahead of me on that front!
Peace Out, The Compusician (Great smelling Compusician!)

Gov seeks private see
Government seeks "Private Sector"
A letter from a trucker to his elected officials:
----
Friday June 5, 2009
Thank you and your staff for your service to the people who depend on you nationally. I am trying to gain your influence on laws and governance, which will help provide dignity and protect privacy rights of the people in your jurisdiction.
I am a Truck Driver and according to the law provided by the DOT (which effects every city, county, state, and international area on the North American Continent... yes your area too), I may be subject to have a drug test where the testing facility is required by law to have “direct observation of my genitalia area.” It is very hard to believe, so I have provided the link to the law, for your convenience:
DOT 49 CFR Part 40 Subpart D 40.67
I believe we could test for drugs in a more dignified manner. No workplace would ever allow this to happen, as it would be far beyond sexual harassment. I imagine this law came about because some people being tested were using the “Whizzinator” ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whizzinator ) that was filled with synthetic urine.
I would like to see alternative methods for drug testing, other than “direct observation of my private parts”, as a solution to a few who do not obey the law. One suggestion would be to submit hair samples. Another suggestion would be to require a blood sample. Both ideas provide dignity, but we would need some guarantees on securing our information (Privacy).
As we move forward to shape our future government which includes the World, we need to start here and now and require “Dignity” to be a big part of how the public should have it's privacy protected.
It is to your common sense and influence that I appeal to adopt laws, make decisions, and to talk about this issue.
I think most solutions should have a compromise to unite the past way of doing things, to the future way of doing things.

Ideal Energy
An ideal energy model is first needed. What is the most ideal form of energy? One that can be stored for a long time, is cheap, is clean, not a danger to transport or use, and is readily available (abundant).
I submit that this ideal energy form be a solid. It should be derived from a cheap source, the Sun or wind. And it should be distributed as “pellets” or “blocks”.
You will hear the arguments about endangering our food supply. This is not a factor. This “food supply” scare is a tactic used by oil companies, and other energy companies. Think for a moment if the price of corn goes really high, then wouldn't it be more profitable for drug dealers to start growing corn than marijuana? You see my point. The oil companies are in with the government (as you already knew), and they are “protecting” their revenue stream.
The biggest problem with energy is not making it, but storing it for long periods of time. Most people could put a windmill in their front yard and get electricity, but the problem is when there is no wind, there is no stored electricity.
Right now I believe that the “magic” solution is to convert the Sun into a solid energy form to store and use at a later date. Right now we convert the Sun into liquid (alcohol) and store it and use it for a later date.
And then we have another argument (the oil companies are so argumentative!). It costs too much to produce. It takes more energy to make than it yields. I don't want to get into this argument too deep, but let me just say that they are leaving something very valuable out of the calculations they model. We are not trying to produce cheaper energy. We already can get it free from the Sun (Solar). We ARE trying to produce a storage solution. If I can produce a way to safely store energy for long periods of time, the costs will go down as time goes on and the most important factor is that we will not need the oil companies. Remember, I get the energy free from the Sun or wind? If I can convert and store it safely, why do I need the energy company? And now you start to see the whole economic and political game.
I would imagine there could be a biological way to safely make free energy also. I am not a Bio Chemist, so don't ask me how.
Our leaders are aware of the future that is before the worlds eyes, free energy. Perhaps now you are aware of why they need to tax carbon? Oil companies will die off as we move into the future, it is called progress. They sure can't let the tax revenue flow die.

Contacting Elected Officials
How do I contact my elected leaders?
There are many ways on line to connect with your elected officials for complaints as well as kudos. The most comprehensive and easy to use we site I have used so far is at USA.gov.
Here is the link to the specific page to contact all of your leaders via e-mail (excluding the Supreme Court Justices... they accept regular mail only).
Link: USA.gov contacts ( http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml )
Peace Out, and good luck! The Compusician
PS I have an issue which I am communicating with my leaders. I am saving their responses and will comment on them soon. So far, most e-mail forms are relatively easy to fill out. Every leader seems to have a unique way of doing the e-mail acceptance. I will comment more on this later. Here is my issue I have. It is odd. It is unique. And the scariest part is, that it is REAL.

Orange Juice
I think I may have found a way to significantly reduce the acid in orange juice (or at least the heartburn feeling).
Make it with distilled water. If it is already premixed orange juice, then use distilled water ice cubes.
It works well for me, and now I drink orange juice all of the time!

PICO POWDER
I have a culinary idea for some young aspiring inventor. Pico Powder. Yes. Why not dry up the ingredients in Pic de Gallo and dispense it like we do with salt shakers and pepper shakers? A pico shaker?
Add to this the possibility of adding in pepper and call it Pico Pepper?
Just an idea.

Song Smith
I'm playing around with Songsmith from Microsoft and PG Music. It is like the old Band in a Box program, but a whole lot easier to understand for the novice.
I will probably use this for scatching (Scat and Sketching a song with just vocals). The piano chords and style selection seem to be well worth the inexpensive cost (30 dollars right now).
