Super Laser
About the laser article...
We invented rocks for throwing. Government has never used that on an innocent man. We invented Arrows. No Tribal Chief has ever used this on an innocent man. We invented bullets and guns. No leader has ever ordered an execution of an innocent man. We developed the Atom Bomb. No country has ever took the lives of innocent people. And today we celebrate the most powerful weapon ever developed since God made the Sun. Do you have any predictions about the future of the innocent man?

Idea
As I was cleaning today, I found it really interesting that I cannot buy “disposable socks” that fit over my hand. I found an old “short ankle” sock in my rag bag, put it on my hand, got it wet, added a little soap, and it worked real well in the corners, baseboards and picking up dog hair. I went and got another used old sock (clean of course), and dried up the area. I tossed them in the trash and was done.
Two ideas were born, that I would love to give to the universe. To the sock company, make and sell rags that are cheap, fit over the hand, and can be reusable. The hand sock rag should be identifiable enough not to aggravate the laundry person when he or she is sorting through the clean clothes.
How nice would the “hand sock rag” be for wiping a baby's butt and then tossing the rag after use? I would get some sock advertising for this item too, like a mini t-shirt print (Sponge Bob Hand Sock Rag, or Dallas Mavericks Hand Sock, multi color variety for fans in the stands).
Okay, and the other idea for the universe. Why not have the “Strong Paper Towel” industry go even stronger? They could manufacture a roll style paper towel like they do already, except it is a bit smaller, and it dispenses one of those “hand sock rags” I described earlier. Basically it would be a paper towel with a pocket. It would be like sewing two flat pieces of paper towels together, in a rudimentary sense. So, when I am cleaning (once every five years, hey... I'm a guy), I reach for the paper towel rack and pull off the pouch paper towel (call it “The Joey”).
Alright, someone take this idea and run with it. And please hurry, I have more cleaning to do! I could use a sponge that comes with Soft Scrub already on it, stick my hand in it, and clean the bathroom. The Sponge Glove has a “disposable plastic glove like” liner in it. 3 ideas today wow, so 1 more for an added bonus, the rubber glove that is furry or fuzzy (not feathery) on the outside. It is a disposable duster.
Okay, I am getting out of hand. :)
Peace Out, The Compusician
PS Ideas do better when they have a military application to them, so how about making what looks like a roll of paper towels, but it is like I describe above (Hand Rag Cleaner) AS WELL AS something a person could use immediately, and short term as a Dust Mask? Don't forget the advertising on the medium as well! This could pay for itself!

Free Vocals
Yes! That's right. You can get your free vocals from BL8ant over at:
www.ReverbNation.com/bl8ant.
The plan is to provide free song lyrics here, then the band BL8ant will turn them into vocal loops for other computer musician's to use.
Since vocals are the most difficult thing to create, as well as song lyrics, it is time singers and songwriters come together with musicians.
I believe if you LOVE what you do, then you will do well in life regardless of the money.

The Song
The Song: A New Start
The process is still ongoing. My aim is to put the words I would like to see in my song, onto paper. Some words will make the final cut, some will not. I like to have the song nearly finished, never finished completely, as I look at the words as malleable iron. The song must have “room” to take shape to the melody, and meaning. Sometimes I start out with the song to mean one thing, but through the hands of Angels, a new meaning develops. It is okay for me. I think we dream the same way. We visualize what we want, but what we get is near, never exact.
The more general you can make the song or point, the less personal meaning you will have, however the size of the audience can grow, It is a trade off. For example: I might say, “Dolly Parton has a big chest.” This is precise and specific. But to say, “Blond beauty has a healthy set of lungs,” leaves open interpretation, is more general and less specific which might be okay if you want to grow the size of the audience (now, Hank in Hanover can think the song is about his new girlfriend).
The words are there on the page, but the one thing you cannot put on paper is “feeling.” Feeling, or the “feel” of the song, comes from making a melody, and shaping the lyrics to fit that melody, and to have the melody fit the words. For the Chorus, I like to keep short, commercial, and “verbish.” It represents what the Verse is not. Just as musically I contrast the Verse from the Chorus, I can also do likewise with the Lyrics. The Verse will describe, while the Chorus is action (or vise-versa).
Okay, so I just want to let you know this about the song I am working on... so you don't think that “nothing” is happening. I am molding a melody to the lyrics. You know... it is much like a painter has a blank canvas, he then sets some rules and guides for what he wants to accomplish, and he visualizes the colors. Everything is there except an interpretation of the scene. Some artists like full control of the end result, while others leave it up to the gods; Picasso or Van Gogh? Both are great, but both are very different.
Like I said before, I will spend less time in the future analyzing song making, and just paint them. But I think it is important that every artist share some of his or her “how to.” It's not about making money, but helping other's release what is inside their mind, and releasing it onto a medium, so the world can see inside the mind of your imagination.
The blank canvas will never look exactly the same when people put their imagination to it. Imagination is never “normal” because never are two imaginations exactly the same. I like this one saying, “I want to be different, just like everyone else.”
Peace Out, The Compusician
PS By the way, I do not have any audience to my words or what I am doing that I know of at this point in time. However, I do not let this stop me. I have a mission inside of me, and that mission may never be realized until long after I am gone. When we climb the mountain, and then stand on the mountain top, to others the beauty is the picture I took while standing at the top of the mountain. But for a true artist, actor, athlete or business professional, the personal journey is where the real beauty rests. And that is hard to take a snapshot of, heh? And no one else really cares these days in an “end result” society.

A New Start
This song I'm writing, "A New Start," needs more behind it than just an explanation of how I think a new beginning has an effect on life. Proverbs, Wisdom Sayings, Provocative Thoughts, Quotes are a good way to add some spice to the song.
I have a saying I made up, and I'm sure the thought line has been done before, it is in my own words.
"When someone tells you, "It can't be done.", they are really saying, "The World is waiting for you to do it." It is with this spirit that the Wright Brothers could "fly". It is with this spirit that man went to the moon. It was with this spirit a Black Man became President of the USA.
"When someone tells you it cannot be done, they are really saying that the World is waiting for you to do it." - The Compusician
And that will be the focus point of my song. Every line must refer to this point in some way or another. The thesis line is, "A New Start." The point is as stated above.
I will add this to my sheet, and be back with some progress with this song (musical adventure).
Peace Out, Gary Ruff as the Compusician

Songwriting Compusician Style
Genesis 1:6-8 (New International Version)
6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.
-----------------------
Will there be a tomorrow?
Will there be another day?
Why the great expanse?
Who was God doing this for?
When did this all happen?
What was the goal or even purpose?
Where did this event occur?
What was the event?
Will there be more?
How was it done?
How will this effect the future?
-----------------------------------------
A New Start
A new start, beginning, Aspiration, Adventure, And it was so
Night from day, water from water, separation, Nine lives
Embark, Excitement
Waste not valuable experience, time, Water
Secure another chance, Separation, Sky
Throw away the bad, The second day, The great expanse
Adventure
Relax and move on,
Take opportunity, Take in the creation by division by God
Notes: I used BibleGateWay.com for the Bible reference. I am developing a writing style that is fun and challenging for me. When I'm in the truck, I need something that is easy. I feel that a song is never finished until the actual music is scored and hammered out. And even then, I think change is acceptable. Therefore, a song is never finished, in my eyes.
I will be back later with more to this song. It is an experiment. I love critics, co writers, and comments.
This song is free, and you can use the lyrics, change them or adjust them anyway you wish for your own music. I am sure you will pay it forward to some other person in some manner to help make this world a better place.
I will take this copy of the song and take it out on the truck with me and answer the questions. Later I will pick one of my favorite songs (Born to be Wild is one), and fit the words to that song. Then I will use Verse Perfect (might still be available at: http://www.bryantmcgill.com/free_rhyming_dictionary/ ).
Another program I use is Rhymesaurus: ( http://purpleroom.com/ ). These two items will give me additional ideas for words to use in my song.
Notice as part of my style, I start each line with the associated letter in the title. It just challenges me, and in a way I think it hands part of my song over to higher powers to come up with something.
“A New Start”, I use the letters to start each new line: A, N, E, W, S, T, A, R, T. Then from there I take my song back from the gods (or God, maybe), and put my twist on it.
I will try hard to remain positive in all my music. While it is true I'm writing Christian songs, I'm not limiting myself in anyway. This will be the only place in this blog where I fully explain how my music lyrics are made. I share this with you because it may be what you need, or have been looking for to help you in your own adventure.

Too many times artists “keep secrets” so no one can steal their ideas. What I have learned in life is that most people will not care how I write lyrics, or will ever have an interest in doing it the same way. When I share my thoughts, I learn far more than I ever gave.
To teach is to learn.
And that is all about this part of: How to write a song. I hope this helps you in making computer music. Lyrics and singing are the hardest part of making a song.
Peace Out, The Compusician

My Bible Chapter 0005
Genesis 1:6 through Genesis 1:8
And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.” So God made the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. God called the expanse “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning – the second day.
---------
Commentary and what I've learned today:
Before I consult my study guide, let me say what I think about this passage. It would seem to me that the Bible speaks in general terms. It would seem to me that more would need to be done in the beginning than just separating the water from the water. I know there is a few more days to come, but life seems so much more complex than making a few things happen. That is why I believe, at this point the Bible is speaking in general terms. Let's see what the study bible says for this chapter.
Well, the Study Bible speaks generally also, just that God has created a place comfortable for man.
-------
I am writing the Bible out (word for word) for my own use to try to better understand it. I welcome comments, as this is a learning adventure. The Bible I am reading will put everything into chronological order and offer some studies on the entries. My mind is open and I realize that everyone, including myself, has a different perspective, as well as a different base from which to learn and teach. My initial goal is to enhance my music, and to fulfill a goal to have read the Bible in my lifetime.

High Blood Pressure?
I'm investigating something new about me, as I am so happy to discover my back pain problem. Hey, maybe soon I will cure death? (Laugh)
I noticed that when I stand up for a few minutes, and then have my blood pressure checked while still standing, my blood pressure is in the good range.
I have heard people say they like to be quiet and calm and lay down before the doctor comes into the office to check the blood pressure. Have him check it while laying down, and then while sitting. You both will see some fascinating numbers.
Could it be that the cure to high blood pressure, and thus many other ailments, might be related to sitting down so much?
Maybe the veins and flow of blood to the legs are reduced by the form of the body while sitting? The less area the blood has to circulate could possibly cause a higher pressure in the upper part of the body (where the pressure just happens to be checked).
This would be a good study for a University to try.

Back Pain?
I just want to pass along a personal story that might help someone else. For years I was troubled with a pain in my lower back. So much so, that at times I could not walk or move without pain. Often I would use a heating pad, perhaps I would stretch my legs at 90 degrees between the floor and the wall.
I never knew when it would hit me. I played basketball and tried to be active when I could. When the pain started to come, I would take some Tylenol or Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. It worked. Then the pain would return a few days later, and I would repeat the same old routine.
One day, not related to my pain, I decided to stop taking all medicines and live naturally on the foods that I eat. Needless to say, that did not work out so well. But I did manage to remove some medications from my daily life. One of those medicines were Acetaminophen.
For the longest time I used only natural aspirin, no fancy concoction. And it occurred to me one day after drinking alcohol the night before, I needed to “cure” this hangover, but I was out of Aspirin. So I found some Acetaminophen hidden back in the darkness of the closet. I took some, and it cured my headache within hours. It worked great.
But then a whole day later, I had a back pain that was very familiar, but also a pain I did not have for a long time prior. Was it the Acetaminophen? How could that be? My pain was well after a day when I took it? My natural inclination to relieve the pain was to take more Acetaminophen. And there lies the cycle of back pain in my life.
Pain --> Acetaminophen --> more Pain --> more Acetaminophen.
I verified this pattern of cause and effect on my own. It was true. The back pain I had was caused by my pain reliever. And as you read the warnings on the bottle, it does warn against this. But it is hard to detect for an average guy like me, when the effect is a delayed effect. For years I suffered. Now I do not suffer anymore. I do not suffer from back pain. If I do have a problem, it is never that horrible “signature” pain.
I talked casually with a doctor and he said there have been cases where the liver or the kidneys are involved in the pain. Again that warning is on the label of the Acetaminophen. My goal here with this article is to simply get out what I found. Maybe it will set off a light for another person who suffers from back pain, and to look at their own medicines.
For the longest time I chalked it up to a bad back muscle. Maybe it was a pinched nerve or slipped disk? No, it was my pain reliever.
I found relief after a whole week of just taking Aspirin for the pain. Slowly the pain would go away forever, only to return in delay fashion if I took Acetaminophen. This is not a slam on this drug, for it helps many people. I was taking it everyday like a vitamin. I am not pointing the finger at anyone for this discovery I made about my own habits and health. I sit a lot at work as a truck driver and at my hobby, music. I hope my personal information helps you in some way.
Peace Out, The Compusician
Higher Standards for Politicians
(May 15, 2009 Dallas, Texas USA)
We need to raise our standards for our leaders to follow. This will be an effective way to rid our system of the many abuses we see by our leaders.
Republicans, Democrats and Individual Free Thinkers can at least agree that our Congressman and President should follow the same laws they set forth for the public. I would even go further and have them EXCEED those standards.
For example; many Americans are required to be tested for drugs as a “safety” matter. Maybe it is time we ask our Political Representatives to lead the way by setting even higher standards on drug testing them?
When a leader such as Nancy Pelosi votes FOR a Bill to allow water boarding (whether she believes in the Bill or not), then she back tracks on the issue, is it not a great time to see if water boarding really is safe and effective? Do you think we could get the truth out of her in this safe and family fun way of extracting the truth? Or did Congress and the President just want to water board us and not them?
The important thing is not whether you or they believe in the laws they make, but that they are willing to abide by the laws just the same way that they are asking the public.
I'm not even asking that these leaders give away their vast fortunes (most of which was made in office) to become elected leaders. However, since they should be held to higher standards, why not require them to release their financial information on a monthly basis? This way we can see “curious entries” early on.
I will go one further as they are responsible for making laws we can live with. When they submit a Bill for review, in the Bill must be what the Bill relates to. All laws must have an “expiration” date, other than our Constitution. And speaking of the Constitution, I like the idea of requiring a lawmaker who submits a Bill to show how this law is “Constitutional”.
Lastly, and I know you will like this one. We need more input from the citizens (legal citizens) of America. When the Electric bill comes, maybe there will be a questionnaire about the job our Congress is doing. If they score 10 percent, then maybe we should only pay them according to their performance?
I know all of these ideas are far fetched, ridiculous and impossible. But, many Americans live by these standards every day already. What is wrong with raising the bar so our Congress will be up to our level?
To have power is an honor bestowed by the American people. Do you think our leaders have used this power wisely? What changes or improvements would YOU like to see? Blog about it. It's time we start having this discussion. Who in our leadership already lives up to the American people's standards?
Peace Out, The Compusician

JOKES THAT CAN BE TOLD IN CHURCH
Attending a wedding for the first time, a little girl whispered to her mother, 'Why is the bride dressed in white?''
The mother replied, 'Because white is the color of happiness, and today is the happiest day of her life.'
The child thought about this for a moment then said, 'So why is the groom wearing black?'
~~~~~~~~~~~~
A little girl, dressed in her Sunday best, was running as fast as she could, trying not to be late for Bible class. As she ran she prayed, 'Dear Lord, please don't let me be late! Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!'
While she was running and praying, she tripped on a curb and fell, getting her clothes dirty and tearing her dress. She got up, brushed herself off, and started running again! As she ran she once again began to pray, 'Dear Lord, please don't let me be late...But please don't shove me either!'
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Three boys are in the school yard bragging about their fathers. The first boy says, 'My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a poem, they give him $50.'
The second boy says, 'That's nothing. My Dad scribbles a few words on piece of paper, he calls it a song, they give him $100.'
The third boy says, 'I got you both beat. My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a sermon, and it takes eight people to collect all the money!'
~~~~~~~~~~~~
An elderly woman died last month. Having never married, she requested no male pallbearers. In her handwritten instructions for her memorial service, she wrote, 'They wouldn't take me out while I was alive, I don't want them to take me out when I'm dead.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~
A police recruit was asked during the exam, 'What would you do if you had to arrest your own mother?' He answered, 'Call for backup.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Sunday School teacher asked her class why Joseph and Mary took Jesus with them to Jerusalem . A small child replied, 'They couldn't get a baby-sitter.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to 'Honor thy father and thy mother,' she asked, 'Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?'
Without missing a beat, one little boy answered, 'Thou shall not kill.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~
At Sunday School they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs.
Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and she said, 'Johnny, what is the matter?' Little Johnny responded, 'I have pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two boys were walking home from Sunday school after hearing a strong preaching on the devil. One said to the other, 'What do you think about all this Satan stuff?'
The other boy replied, 'Well, you know how Santa Claus turned out. It's probably just your Dad.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You don't stop laughing because you grow old. You grow old because you stop laughing! Take heed and pass these along to people who need a laugh. Peace Out, The Compusician
Thought you would enjoy this....times are tough right now...for all of us...so we need something to make the day a happy place. 'They' haven't found a way to tax you for laughing yet.
I'm going green 100bpm
Song Lyrics Development
I'm Going Green
I'm going green
Makes me feel lighter
Growing my perspective
On planes much higher
Inner peace is more productive
Nirvana seeks those who enjoy
God gives us Mother Nature
Grow your mind then redeploy
Relax expand the mind
Expanded boundaries of the divine
Ease the daily rain in life
Non violent, less crime
I'm going green
Get outside the line now
Keep direction in control
Moderated time's how
We come back as whole
Going green is the way to go
Light'em up , let the carbon flow
Don't forget to pass it around
Bogart lives in other towns
When society's out of hand
You calmly reach, reach for the can
Smokin' green is less mean
Peace is Green's fan
I'm going green
I write my own lyrics to my songs. I allow others to use most of my lyrics, share them, and change them. I write the Lyrics, move them to Poetry, then maybe create a Song. You can develop your own inspiration from my lyrics at http://sundayisfunday.blogspot.com .
When my version of the song and/or poem is done, it can be heard on BL8ant's band page at: www.ReverbNation.com/bl8ant .
Sometimes I include some rhymes and alternative lyrics to help with inspiration.
Music Producing Checklist
The Compusician's Checklist (version 4)
This checklist is what I'm using to make sure that my future songs have all of the necessary elements. As I learn, grow, and share, the list changes. Please comment and/or use the list to help you in your adventure.
Add In / Sub Out – This is very important. Keep my mind free to try new things (ADD IN). But what isn't working with the group of sounds or idea, then take it out (SUB OUT).
Mood – Look at list of Emotions. What “mood” do I want to try to convey?
Adventure – Have I explored all possibilities in the short story of my point or perspective?
Panning – The song gains depth by proper panning. Left, Right, Middle.
Scat – In my Lyrics Tool box I have every 2 letter combination. Use different combinations to develop a melody.
Peak Limiter – I like this effect for Mastering SOME of the tracks.
Equalizing – This is how the vocals “fit in”. Vocals are in the “MID” range. I'll try to use pan left and pan right for the instruments, thus creating a space in the mid range for the vocals. Example: I kick out the instrumental as a wav file, bring it back into a new sequencer. Make three copies of the track (so I have 4). Pan one track slightly left and equalize out some of the middle. Pan one track slightly right and equalize out some of the middle. Set the vocals in another track and equalize to emphasize the middle AS MUCH IS NEEDED TO MAKE IT “FIT IN”. Mute the unnecessary tracks, or use one to experiment with effects. Bring back some “mid” from the instruments if needed from an unused copy of the track. Balance volume levels and get to Mastering.
Opening Riff – Almost every song has an “Alert Riff”, to let the listener know that their favorite song is coming on.
Each Instrument Riff – I can Add in or Sub out what is not working.
Each Instrument Showcasing – Add In or Sub Out what is not working.
Tool Boxes – Look over my “Toolboxes” (Vocal and Lyrics) to visualize any new ideas that come to mind.
Vocal Loops – I want to be known for great vocal FX and ideas. So, the old days of Joan Jett's, “I love Rock and Roll”has a great riff loop, I need to have an equally great riff loop with vocals and effects.
Song Structure – Intro | V1 | V2 | C1/C2 | V1 | V2 | C1/C2 | V2 | INST | C1/C2 | C1/C2 | Outro ** note that this is basic and can be changed up. (Verse, Chorus, Instrumental)
Interchanger's – I use these shorter transitions to be carefully placed in the song structure. Moving from complex to simple building back to complex or vise versa is a good use for interchanger's. A breather or an exciter.
Trailers – This is important. Every hit song has what I call “trailers”. Usually there is a vocal expression, then a short musical burst afterward. “I'm not your stepping stone”, by the Monkees makes good obvious use of “trailers”.
3 – The triangle. I can go up, down, or stay even. With 4 instruments playing at once, it is part of what makes music have the ability to be limitless.
4 – With vocals and instruments in 2 separate groups, I should have LOW – MID LOW – MID HIGH – HIGH. Now you start to see the endless possibilities of music composing. Couple this with “The Triangle”, and you can see the to near infinity. Putting your artistic touch (imagination) on the song is what takes your music PAST infinity, and beyond.
Pulsator – Whether it's the Bass, the Synth, the Drums, or another instrument, I want to add a Pulse to this song, and bring it in and out of the “Rotisserie”.
Tic Tac Toe – Imagine 3 words written down. High, Medium, Low. Then imagine 3 words written across. Fast, Middle, Slow. This should form what looks like a “Tic Tac Toe” diagram. When an instrument or vocal is playing “Fast and High”, another instrument or vocal needs to balance it by playing “Slow and Low”, or other choices not already used in that section of the song. In other sections of the song, an instrument may change it's make up, which should usually change the make up of the other instruments.
Contrasting – That “Tic Tac Toe” thing I made up is a great example of “Contrasting”. At the end of this article I made some “contrasts” to illustrate what I mean. Imagine you hear a cricket in the forest. Maybe an owl in the background. Contrasting would be the immediate sounds opposite to the current feeling. A lightning bolt, or a bears slight and low growl. It is how a story is told. Emotional swings using “contrasting”. (You won't believe what happens next, or “oh oh!”) (You CAN explain Love by describing hate. When you describe HOT, it helps explain COLD).
DJ – Do add loops, effects and samples to enhance the feeling in the song.
SFX – Sound effects. Yes. I have a tendency to over do it. Remember: ADD IN / SUB OUT.
Sell – Remember I'm trying to sell or convince the listener about my point of view.
Graint – It is not a word, “Graint”. And that is the point. Make up some words. Ain't Great, “Graint”!
Tangent – Go OFF tangent. Yes! In the old days you had about 3 minutes to make your point if you wanted to be heard on the radio. But now the canvas has a different color and your world is yours to explore. Are you painting this picture like Picasso or Rembrandt?
Similarity – Similarity to familiarity brings them in. You never want someone to say you sound just like one band. “You sound just like Pink Floyd”. Well, great. The world already has a Pink Floyd. But on the other hand, “You sound like Pink Floyd mixed with Nine Inch Nails”, is something else! Try Cindi Lauper with Leanne Rhymes. You want a similar sound, but different.
Rotisserie – Your song is an artistic performance. It is on stage. Get to the action, feeling and mood immediately. A play usually has more than one actor, and your performance should be like a chicken cooking on a rotisserie. Bring out the drums up front, then slowly set them back to the opening riff, which is slowly set back to the vocals, which then the drums come back, etc... (This is one example).
Mastering – I put Engineering and Mastering into the same category. You want to make sure your levels are right and not causing distortion. Over time you will develop a sound you like that comes from the Mastering process.
Mistakes – Mistakes can be good. Use them in your adventure. Often what happens is that a person hears your mistake, then comments or tells other people. Is that what you want? Free Publicity?
Poetry – Does my song work out fine Lyrically or Poetically? Repetition is GRAND in commercial music.
Drama – Add in a “skit”. Have a skit with that scat :) I like to tell a story in a play, (drama) fashion. The song will then have more meaning as to what I'm talking about.
List – Keep a list of bands you like to listen to, or to emulate, for specific reasons to your cause.
AC/DC, Joan Jett (I love Rock and Roll), Rob Zombie (Living Dead Girl), Sponge (Plowed), INXS, Cameo, K-Rhap, Simple Minds, Billy Idol, Garbage, Opera, Big Audio Dynamite, Fat Boy Slim
Contrasting examples -
Hot – Cold
Fast – Slow
Wow! - Calm
Sweet – Sour
Dark – Light
Beauty – Ugly
Love – Hate
Hard – Soft
Yes - No
When you have made the foundation of the house strong, as strong as a pyramid, then it will support any creativity you will add to it. You will want to “dress” your creation with paint, wood, shutters, or whatever, on top of your creativity. Step back, let a few days pass, and look again. Is it what you imagined? Is it acceptable to you? If so, then welcome your new baby (your song) to this world.
Peace Out, The Compusician
Bring out the drums up front, then slowly set them back to the opening riff, which is slowly set back to the vocals, which then the drums come back, etc... (This is one example).
Mastering – I put Engineering and Mastering into the same category. You want to make sure your levels are right and not causing distortion. Over time you will develop a sound you like that comes from the Mastering process.
Mistakes – Mistakes can be good. Use them in your adventure. Often what happens is that a person hears your mistake, then comments or tells other people. Is that what you want? Free Publicity?
Poetry – Does my song work out fine Lyrically or Poetically? Repetition is GRAND in commercial music.
Drama – Add in a “skit”. Have a skit with that scat :) I like to tell a story in a play, (drama) fashion. The song will then have more meaning as to what I'm talking about.
List – Keep a list of bands you like to listen to, or to emulate, for specific reasons to your cause.
AC/DC, Joan Jett (I love Rock and Roll), Rob Zombie (Living Dead Girl), Sponge (Plowed), INXS, Cameo, K-Rhap, Simple Minds, Billy Idol, Garbage, Opera, Big Audio Dynamite, Fat Boy Slim
Contrasting examples -
Hot – Cold
Fast – Slow
Wow! - Calm
Sweet – Sour
Dark – Light
Beauty – Ugly
Love – Hate
Hard – Soft
Yes - No
When you have made the foundation of the house strong, as strong as a pyramid, then it will support any creativity you will add to it. You will want to “dress” your creation with paint, wood, shutters, or whatever, on top of your creativity. Step back, let a few days pass, and look again. Is it what you imagined? Is it acceptable to you? If so, then welcome your new baby (your song) to this world.
Checklist v4
Questions to ponder...
Frequency
Refresh Rate
Something can keep the frequencies apart, and something can keep them together.
Vibration and Gravity and Centrifugal Force
Resonance, using it for work
Imagination, God
If I wanted to separate Hydrogen from Oxygen I could use electricity. But maybe there is a a more efficient way to do it? What if I were able to vibrate Hydrogen at its frequency while simultaneously vibrate Oxygen at its frequency (without mind to number of atoms for this first test).
Would this be enough to split the atoms? Would this make more water? What would actually happen?
I think one more frequency might be needed, because once you have both atoms resonating at their frequency, you would need “something else” to dis join them. In essence, I guess that is what electricity is doing anyways. Maybe the friction heat is what separates the molecules?
I always thought that the opposite force to Gravity would be Centrifugal force. And maybe that does play a factor in releasing the Hydrogen atoms.
I mention “refresh rate” in my list up above. I only mention this because when I wake up from sleep, I notice from the darkness to the light a pulsing vibration much like the effect a strobe light has in the darkness. Pulsing is not that far off from describing frequency, if not exact.
Maybe everything is pulsing to it's own frequency, but still related to it's basic frequency?
Hydrogen is different from Oxygen. If I were to split H2O I would get 2 parts Hydrogen, and 1 Part Oxygen. Then why does it not recombine as HO or HO2? Does frequency play apart in what becomes joined, and what does not?
Maybe in 2012 Earth travels through a frequency region in outer space which will change how matter combines and separates?
Back to the issue. It seems to me that many reactions require some sort of catalyst. Is the frequency the catalyst or actually part of the compound? When scientist try to smash atoms together in a collider, do they realize that they will not be making a black hole (as some fear)? However, it would be much more efficient to rotate two or more frequencies in opposing directions and let speed increase centrifugal force to overcome the effects of gravity.
But to make a new compound you would need to overcome the laws of physics (which is possible once we understand how the laws work in different environments).
I imagine the secret to be in this question; “How do we assign a new frequency to an atom so that it will not act according to the laws of physics present in today's environment?” When will come the day when I can separate Hydrogen from Water, and have it recombine into oil for my car?
Peace Out, The Compusician
PS There is something out there (and here) and everywhere that allows things to “start” once combined. There is something in the ether. When biology combines, something is signaled to let the pulse of life begin. If the frequency is not correct, then all we have is two biological entities combined. A bacteria is living, while a Virus is not. Is the difference just in “frequency”?
I do not pretend to know if the frequency is God, but I do think that God made everything, and made frequency for a far bigger reason than we understand today. In the beginning there was only God. It is just fascinating to me to ponder this stuff. I often wonder why science seems so far apart from religion in a scientific world when it is obvious to see that the physical world is connected to the spiritual world.
If I imagine a big green hairy hippo, and then set out to draw one, then build one, where did the hippo come from? It's only a matter of time before I will be able to manipulate DNA to “make” one. But where did it's spirit come from? It's attitude and involuntary actions came from where? I did not imagine any of those things, so it had to come from somewhere.
And with that you now see that I believe in God, and know that he exists in a different form that can be explained by the laws of physics (which by the way makes sense since “physics” comes from the word “physical”). Our imagination is where I think God is. And without our imagination, God is still there. It is all just very intriguing. By the way, what color was the hippo I created?
Music Checklist
The Compusician's Checklist - My overall Music Production Techniques.
Add In / Sub Out – This is very important. Keep my mind free to try new things (ADD IN). But what isn't working with the group of sounds or idea, then take it out (SUB OUT).
Scat – In my Lyrics Tool box I have every 2 letter combination. Use different combinations to develop a melody.
Opening Riff – Almost every song has an “Alert Riff”, to let the listener know that their favorite song is coming on.
Each Instrument Riff – I can Add in or Sub out what is not working.
Each Instrument Showcasing – Add In or Sub Out what is not working.
Tool Boxes – Look over my “Toolboxes” (Vocal and Lyrics) to visualize any new ideas that come to mind.
Vocal Loops – I want to be known for great vocal FX and ideas. So, the old days of Joan Jett's, “I love Rock and Roll”has a great riff loop, I need to have an equally great riff loop with vocals and effects.
Song Structure – Intro V1 V2 C1/C2 V1 V2 C1/C2 V2 INST C1/C2 C1/C2 Outro ** note that this is basic and can be changed up.
Interchangers – I use these shorter transitions to be carefully placed in the song structure. Moving from complex to simple building back to complex or vise versa is a good use for interchangers. A breather or an exciter.
Trailers – This is important. Every hit song has what I call “trailers”. Usually there is a vocal expression, then a short musical burst afterwards. “I'm not your stepping stone”, by the Monkees makes good obvious use of “trailers”.
3 – The triangle. I can go up, down, or stay even. With 4 instruments playing at once, it is part of what makes music have the ability to be limitless.
4 – With vocals and instruments in 2 separate groups, I should have LOW – MID LOW – MID HIGH – HIGH. Now you start to see the endless possibilities of music composing. Couple this with “The Triangle”, and you can see the to near infinity. Putting your artistic touch (imagination) on the song is what takes your music PAST infinity, and beyond.
DJ – Do add loops, effects and samples to enhance the feeling in the song.
SFX – Sound effects. Yes. I have a tendency to over do it. Remember: ADD IN / SUB OUT.
Sell – Remember I'm trying to sell or convince the listener about my point of view.
Graint – It is not a word, “Graint”. And that is the point. Make up some words. Ain't Great, “Graint”!
Tangent – Go OFF tangent. Yes! In the old days you had about 3 minutes to make your point if you wanted to be heard on the radio. But now the canvas has a different color and your world is yours to explore. Are you painting this picture like Picasso or Rembrandt?
Similarity – Similarity to familiarity brings them in. You never want someone to say you sound just like one band. “You sound just like Pink Floyd”. Well, great. The world already has a Pink Floyd. But on the other hand, “You sound like Pink Floyd mixed with Nine Inch Nails”, is something else! Try Cindi Lauper with Leanne Rhymes. You want a similar sound, but different.
Rotisserie – Your song is an artistic performance. It is on stage. Get to the action, feeling and mood immediately. A play usually has more than one actor, and your performance should be like a chicken cooking on a rotisserie. Bring out the drums up front, then slowly set them back to the opening riff, which is slowly set back to the vocals, which then the drums come back, etc... (This is one example).
Mastering – I put Engineering and Mastering into the same category. You want to make sure your levels are right and not causing distortion. Over time you will develop a sound you like that comes from the Mastering process.
Mistakes – Mistakes can be good. Use them in your adventure. Often what happens is that a person hears your mistake, then comments or tells other people. Is that what you want? Free Publicity?
Poetry – Does my song work out fine Lyrically or Poetically? Repetition is GRAND in commercial music.
List – Keep a list of bands you like to listen to, or to emulate, for specific reasons to your cause.
AC/DC, Joan Jett (I love Rock and Roll), Rob Zombie (Living Dead Girl), Sponge (Plowed), INXS, Cameo, K-Rhap, Simple Minds, Billy Idol, Garbage, Opera, Big Audio Dynamite, Fat Boy Slim
VST Plug In
A great new idea for a music program “plug in” for sequencers.
A great new idea for a music program “plug in” for sequencers.
The VST Program might start off by asking me the Beats per Minute. Then ask for the loops. The “range” should be equal on each track.
For example, I put in 2 loops that are 4 bars long, and 1 loop that is 1 bar long, and 1 loop that is 8 bars long. If I select my range to be 1 bar long, it will play each track simultaneously, at 1 bar length for each track. In essence, it is a sequencer that allows me to play the sequencer marker at different points on multiple tracks. It also allows me to FX each track, creating some new and wild sounds for the future of music.
I included a picture to help explain this idea a bit better. Just think of your regular sequencer, but the only difference is that each track I can start at a different location. It allows me to select a “range” in each track. And, it produces a perfect 1 bar, 2 bar (whatever I choose) loop. Which allows for a greater freedom in riff making.
I am giving this idea free of charge to the world so it can be developed by another more experienced programmer. If you like the idea and want to pay me, great. If not well just know that I have thousands of ideas for any quality music company which would like to pay for my imagination as a creative and imaginative employee.
Peace Out, The Compusician
